1. Ballard Births and Deaths book

The Ballard Co. Births and Deaths book was published in 1988 by Simmons Historical Publications, Melber, KY 42069. It is probably still for sale but this book is not at all a complete history of births and deaths in Ballard Co. Most all these birth and death records are only for the 1850s and 1870s.

There are no Hilton deaths listed. There are only 2 Hilton births in the book. They are for S. W. Lee, female, born Oct 29, 1878, daughter of H. H. Lee and Mary Hilton; and C. Tribble, female, born Aug 11, 1878, daughter of J. W. Tribble and mother M. A. Hilton.

There are no entries at all for the names Ware or Ingraham.

2. I have all volumes of both the Carlisle and Ballard Counties Cemetery books and your Hilton and Ingraham names are not listed as buried in any of the cemeteries recorded in these books. They are probably buried on their farm land, as were most of our ancestors for that time period. Also, the location of most of the old Family Graveyards is unknown or any tombstones are no longer "readable" due to weather and vandalism.

3. I do not live in KY but was told that "Borth" Humphries was a mistake by the census taker and should have been "North" Humphries. I have not been able to find any map that shows any Humphries community so cannot tell you where it was located within the county.

4. The Ballard-Carlisle Counties Historical and Genealogy Society has research material at the Livingston Public Library in Ballard but they are only open on Fridays from 9 to 5.

5. I found a excellent research resource nearby at the Public Library in Paducah, McCracken County. They have a large collection of research material in their Special Collections Section. Also have very helpful employees. For information about this, go to

www.mclib.net/specialcollections.htm

Sorry I can't be more helpful but enjoy your visit.
