First, info that I know is correct. The Meador book formal name is Meador Families of Virginia and points west which is a 3 Volume Books printed by Victor Paul Meador in 1989. I have corresponded with Victor Paul for almost 40 years. My only visit with him was about 10 years ago atd at that time he was very alert but in his 70's and had retired from the Meador genealogy after so many years of support to me and probably hundreds of other people. To the best of my knowledge he is still living in Independence, Missouri. His 3 Volumes have some errors as he is the first person to admit that but in my research it is the primary Meador book to use. It is out of print but I think it is in all major city libraries.
Now for the following which is NOT documented. I have George Cliburn being married three times. HIs first marriage was to Elizabeth Roark (1825-1846). His second marriage was to Susanna Roark (1828-1859). They were sisters and daughters of Asa Roark (1786-1792 birth and died in 1862 and his wife Susan Tudor. George Cliburn third marriage was to Catherine Brown (1835-1921). George had children by all three women.
The Roarks and Cliburns lived primarily in southern Allen County near Macon County, TN, and Monroe County, KY. This simple fact makes genealogy study in that area most difficult and errors have been made easily. I believe the information about George Cliburn and his wives is correct but am not 100% sure of the Roarks (parents) in the preceding paragraph.
