Hope someone out there may know the Kvale family who lived in a small town in Pennsington County, Minnisota, early in the 1900s. I hope you might recognize this family from the small amount of information I can give here and help me learn more about my family.
My grandmother, who is still alive, was born in 1900 and her family's name was Kvale. She had many siblings and her parents came from Norway. They were among the founders of a Norwegian Lutheran church in their Pennsington County town. Church members used Norweigian in their services until the 1950s.
Grandma married Lowell Leffingwell and they had two sons. My father was Lawrence (Larry) Bruce Leffingwell and his brother is still alive. Larry was born in 1930 and he died in 1974 in a traffic accident in Florida.
The Leffingwell family lived in the Los Angeles area of southern California. Lowell Leffingwell died of diabetes when Larry was about 11 years old, so probably he died about 1941. Grandma later married Richard (Dick) Wessling, who died about 1973 or 1974. Grandma still lives in southern California, in Valencia.
Hope to hear from anyone (especially relatives and friends) who may know our family.
(My sister and I were later adopted by another father so we did not grow up knowing Larry. I enjoy genealogy, especially to learn about our family.)
Thanks, Linda Lee Leffingwell-Garcia-Dreier
