Hello cousin! Yes, Kutztown was established by George Kutz, Sr., but it grew very slowly, and its value to the founder's family (land rents on lots) was cut off by properly law reforms after the War of Independence. George's grandson, Jacob Kutz, moved to Wilkes Barre where he and Rosina (Fitzgerald) Kutz are buried (in Hollenbeck Cemetary). One of Jacob's sons, my Great grandfather George F. Kutz, b. 1835; d. 1923, joined the Navy in 1855, and came to the West Coast shortly after the Civil War
