My grandpa was
James Kuta he was born September 22, 1888 in Budweis, CZ.
He emigrated to the US in 1900 at the age of 12. He came to Baltimore Maryland and lived and worked with family in the meat packing industry. He moved to Iowa after a short period of this manual labor. He made a living as an mechanic and carpenter. He served in WW1 and the national guard chasing poncho villa around southern usa. He married Lydia Allard from Elk Point S.D. and had Lorraine, Norma, Gloria, Dee, Ramona, and Jim as children.
He had a brother Frank that came to america and was educated as a chemical engineer. He lived in california with his wife and I don't know if they had any children.
