Good to find your message David. I, too, am just starting the search for my (our?) Kurz family. My family at some point was working in the Kaiser's household...would that have been in Berlin? I know a little about my more recent family and that they came to Cincinnati in the mid to late 1800's from Germany:

my father:
Alexander Thomson Kurz, Sr. dob 04/06/1906 Indianapolis, IN

grandfather: Fred C Kurz dob 3/5/1873 in Cincinnati, Ohio. dod 1/16/1937 Indianapolis, Indiana

There were a bunch of Kurz' who immigrated to Cincinnati, OH at least as far back as 1850 and continuing until 1872, but I have not been able to identify which was my great grandfather.

A story about my ancestors, passed to me by my father, talks about my so many greats back grandfather who was a game keeper for the Kaiser, and his wife is said to have been a cook in the Kaiser's household.

So, there you have what I know so far. Hope we get connected. Alex T. Kurz, Jr. Ph.D. Los Angeles, CA and Manila, Philippines.
