Hi, I'm not sure I'm reading your post correctly. Are you descended from Peter Lauck or Peter Lauck Kurtz? I don't know what dates you may have for PLK but he cannot be a grandson of PL. Peter Lauck had only one daughter, Rebecca, who married John Cunningham, and her two daughters did not marry Kurtzes. I have done a lot of Lauck genealogy and there are one or two granddaughters of Peter Laucks for whom I don't have marriage info--if a granddaughter married a Kurtz and had a Peter Lauck Kurtz, you'd have a great-grandson--there can be no grandson.
More likely Adam Kurtz named a son after his old Mess cohort. They stayed veyr close, from all accounts, having reunions every 4th of July and so on. Peter Lauck named one son Morgan for Daniel Morgan, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if other members of the Mess named kids after each other.
If you do have documentation of a Kurtz marrying a Lauck girl, I'd be very interested in knowing about it--I have a few Lauck granddaughters whose fate I don't know--no marriage or death record found so far. Can surely share details of my info if you like too.
