KURTZ IN BERKS COUNTY
Posted by: Joseph Staker (ID *****3164) Date: February 07, 2009 at 18:52:00

Would like to exchange e-mails with someone who could look over some material on the Kurtz family of Berks County, Pennsylvania.
I have reached a sticking point on two points:
1) Who was Barbara Ritter? Did she marry Jacob, then his half-brother Abraham? Just slide over from one to the other? Or did Jacob die in 1774? Or were there two Barbara Ritters?
2) Who were Abram and Jacob Kurtz found on the 1800 census of Tredyfrinn, Chester County? Who was the Jacob Kurtz at New Britain in 1810? If he died there in 1816, where is his grave?
Any help with any of these questions would be greatly appreciated. I started out working on the King family of Berks County, but along the way became fascinated with all the gaps in the Kurtz genealogy.
