Sarah, Thank you for this link.I read all the Kuntz/Koontz obits and found some good leads.I did find my Jacob (age 26 Strambourg or Strasbourg France) in 1850 in Kosciusco Co, with wife Sally, son Henry (newborn) and relative John H. Kounz (age 17 Germany).Jacob Sr. had a son John H. so maybe this is another clue that my Jacob is son of Jacob Sr. in Marshall co.I also have a Jacob m. Sarah Snyder in Kosciusco 3 June 1849.I think this woman is Saloma "Sally" Snyder d. of Henry Snyder who d. in Kosc. Co. Nov 1849.
Have you seen this website? It is from the Alsace Immigration Book.Chretien Kuntz is believed to be the Christian Koontz who settled in Stark OH.I'm hoping the Jacques Koontz is Jacob Sr. and Jacques Henri is Jacob Jr. I am going to look for it at the library and see if their is more information. Their are also Kuntz immigrants from other areas of Alsace.
