Judith,

The Samuel KUNS that you speak of, is he the son of John KUNS and Catherine OVERMYER? My 4th great grandfather, George KUNTZ had a son John KUNTZ who married Catherine OVERMEYER and moved to Sandusky County, Ohio. We believe that John changed the spelling of his name to KUNS. John's siblings changed the spelling of their names to KUNCE. Recently, a cousin along with the help of the rest of us wrote a book on the family of George KUNTZ. In the book it states that John had changed his name to KUNS. Do you have any more information on the family? I would like to hear from you.
