Seaching for the ancestors of Jacob Kuhns 1784-1868.
The family was living in Indiana Co, PA in 1830.
Jacob Kuhns 1784-1868
Mary 1784-?
George Kuhns 1814
Martin Kuhns 1816
Mary Ann Kuhns 1817
Jacob Kuhns 1820
Elizabeth Kuhns 1822
David Kuhns 1823-1869
Daniel Kuhns 1825
Sarah Kuhns 1829
One source tells me the family traveled to Indiana Co from Berks Co . This same source shows Jacobs father's name to be Issac. I question this because the name Issac appears no where else in the family. However, most of the names listed as the children above have carried down through the generations. David (my direct ancestor) and his brother Jacob walked across Westmoreland Co.to Allegheny County to work in the minds as young men. George and Martin remained in the Saltsburg, PA area and were associated with the Conemaugh Salt Works there. Elizabeth married a Dr. John W. Coulter and moved to Allegheny Co. Nothing is known of the others. I am seaching for information primarily on the earlier Kuhns/Kuntz. Was it a John Jacob Kuntz, George Kuntz or a differant line altogether. Thanks in advance for your help!
