Daniel KUHNS wife was Nancy STOVER. We do not have any doubt about this, although some others have mentioned HOOVER. I believe that HOOVER is a misreading of a handwritten note or else a misunderstanding or misremembering of oral tradition. Daniel and Nancy's son was Jesse Stover KUHNS. His descendants include Dewey KUHNS and his wife Helen, who are also tracing this family.
We have not been able to find out anything else about the STOVER family, other than censuses which say that she was born in Ohio.
Do you have any other information about Daniel and Nancy earlier than the 1860 census in Indiana? I have not been able to find them on the 1870 census. In 1880 they were in Missouri, where their daughter Jennie (Minerva Jane) was living with them shortly before her marriage to James PERRY.
