Emigration from Austro Hungary
My G Grandmother Mary Kubitsa was escorted to New York City by her 2 brotherssometime between 1905 and 1917, She then went to Syracuse, NY, and from there ended up in Detroit via Port Huron,Her brothers returned to Europe. She was married in 1917 to Fred Johns. She was a member of the aristocracy and was always afraid to speak of her parents or tell any information about the family. Her 2 brothers were military cadets and her
family was pretty well off. Her family came from the village or town called Tsarvanitsa, which I have not been able to locate. Is it in Ukraine,Austria,or some other Balkan country? Her passport was from Austro Hungary, but her nanny was teaching her Russian, so obviously Russian was not her native language. Any information would be helpful.
