Cemetery vandalism, Belle Plaine, Kansas
Posted by: Eva King Date: March 30, 2000 at 18:47:37

This past weekend the Belle Plaine, cemetery
(Sumner County) was hit by vandals who broke or toppled stones that had been in place for over 100 years, as well as newer graves. I'm not sure who you would contact, but the town is working to repair and replace the damaged stones. As I was reading thru some of the queries, it occured to me that some of you that KNOW you have family buried in Belle Plaine might want to check to see if any damage has been done to the gravesites of family members. (Malicious little twits! I wonder if their daddys are proud?)
