Conway Springs--Aloysius J. Meyers, 69, 317 N. [illegible] St., died early Tuesday morning, Nov. 23 at Wellington Hospital, where he was taken on Monday. He was a retired barber, and had a shop here for many years.
He was born November 28, 1912 at Cunningham, Ks., to John and Josephine Meyers. He graduated from Cunningham High School and Wichita Barber College.
He married Mary A. Giefer April 25, 1939 at South Mound, Ks. They lived in eastern Kansas towns and Wichita. They moved to Conway Springs in 1954 from Cunningham. They moved to Nicoma Park, Okla. in 1969 and he retired in 1978 and moved back to Conway Springs.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, three sons: Edward, Don, and Bob, all of Conway Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Buck of Wichita; three brothers: Jacob Meyers of Nicoma Park, Okla., Alvin Meyers of Baxter Springs, Ks., and Lawrence Meyers of Winters, Ca.; four sisters: Mrs. Kathryn Poull of Webb City, Mo., Mrs. Hattie Collens of Grants Pass, Ore. and Mrs. Veronica Lemkuhl; also 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
Rosary was 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, St. Joseph Catholic Church led by Fr. Robert Larson. Funeral Mass was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Larson as celebrant. Organist was Virginia Winter. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
Eversole Mortuary, Conway Springs, was in charge of arrangements.
