I am from Stafford, KS and a Cousin tells me that Dr. Charles A. Ruggles was their family Doctor. She said he was an old Indian Doctor and used many Indian remedies. After his death the Stafford Sanatorium was turned into apartments. Another Aunt lived there in the 1940's & 1950's. Stafford has a great Library, last summer while going through a book on the history of Stafford I ran across a picture of Dr. Ruggles. He had on a white suit and hat. He had long white hair and a beard and looked a lot like Buffalo "Bill" Cody himself.

Dixie King Osborn is the person to contact at the Library, I'm sure that she will be a great help. Go to the web site for the "Stafford Courier" and click on Community Links to get to the Library.

Good Luck,
Mary Jane McEntire
