Seth Stevens Emery b 1836 Spencer Ohio d 19 May 1918 Smith Center KS (wife mary Elizabeth Hisey b 1842 d 1924)

Seth William (sometimes Seth Wilbur) Emery, son of Seth Stevens Emery and Mary Hisey. (wife Edith Pruitt)

the confusion may come because Seth Sr had a son Frank, and Seth William had a son Frank Howard Emery...your ancestor.

Wm Hale Winchester lived just down the road from the Emerys in Illinois. He was married to Sybil Gates in 1821 in Clark Co OH. Mary Hisey was his niece.

Seth Emery's brother Josiah b 1820 married Prudence McIntire...she was the daughter of William McIntire and Rebecca Gates...sister of Sybil Gates.

Prudence had a sister, Aramdilla who married William Z Tunks. William Tunks was first married to Perlina Winchester, daughter of neighbor Hale Winchester and Sybil Gates. Perlina died 1849, Armadilla died in 1864, and then William Tunks married Seth's sister the widowed Candace Sarah Emery Daniels in 1867) Candace was daughter of Dr George Reid Emery and first wife Candace R Willey who died in 1832 in Thompson Gueaga Co OH. Candace Willey was daughter of Clement Bates Willey and Candace Merrills.

George Emery married Polley Stevens in 1833 and moved to Spencer Ohio (13 Nov 1833) where Seth was born in their log home. They left for Illinois 15 Jul 1839 and arrived at the home of Polley Stevens sister Irene 16 Aug 1839. The Emerys then bought a place about 1.5 further down the road. The road was the county line between Stephenson and Winnebago co. The emery's later bought the land on the other side of the road in Stephenson co.

William Tunks and "Uncle Hale" Winchester lived on the same road....as did Candace Emery and husband John Daniels Jr. The Burrill family also lived on the road and Viance Emery married Charles Burrill. Charles' brother Jonathan Francis Burrill married Harriet Winchester, Hale Winchester's daughter.
