I am happy to send pictures. I will scan and email them to you. Meanwhile, I put a picture of Milo, Seth Emery's brother on the Overbrook Cem in Osage Co on findagrave.com and a picture of wife, Ruth Culick. I believe I also placed a picture of their father, Dr. George Reid Emery on findagrave.com Ridgeway Cem Elk Two Osage co. I have a picture of Josiah Bartlett Emery, Seth and Milo's half-brother. I just located his first wife grave in the Canfield Cem Analy Twp Sebastopol Sonoma CA. Prudence was orphaned when she and her sister Armadilla came to Stephenson co from ohio. Perhaps, coming with Mary Hisey and the Winchesters...as she was from Union co Ohio.
I can help you going all the way back to John Emery of Romsey Hamsphire England who settled in Newbury MA in 1635. They intermarried with the Bartletts several times.... so you are Emery on both sides ...at least three times an Emery.
How much do you know...but, first....my initial question...Where are Seth S and Mary E Hisey Emery buried.
I have Mary's death cert, but not Seth's. I just sent for Forest H Emery's obit from Scott Co Arkansas. Forest was brother of your Seth William emery.
I moved to Longview WA a couple of years ago to take care of my father. Unfortunately, we had to put him in a home and I stayed to fix up his "historic" i.e, old, house so it could be sold for his care. Meanwhile, my daughter enrolled in the local college so I've just stayed as she's doing very well.
What questions do you have. I just located the grave of Dr. George Reid Emery first wife, Candace R Willey, daughter of Clement Bates Willey and Candace Merrills.
Candace married George in 1817 and she died in 1832 Maple Grove Cem Thompson Geuaga Co Ohio... she left four living children....Josiah Bartlett Emery, George Reid Emery, Candace Sarah Emery and Omri Willey Reid Emery. George married second 1833 Polly Stevens and had six more children....Milo, Eli, Seth, Viola, Viance, and Ovilla who died in her first year. Milo, Eli, and Seth were born in Spencer Ohio where the Emery had gone from Thompson in Nov 1833. Jul 15, 1839 the Emerys left Spencer for Pecatonica Winnebago Co Il where Polley Steven's sister Irene Steven's Harris lived. The Emery bought a place about a mile and a half from Irene's ....on the winnebago side of the county line with Stephenson co. George and Omri moved to Decorah Iowa. Josiah moved to Iowa Calfornia and then back to Kansas. Eli married Clarrisa Partlow who went to school with Candace Emery Daniels sons, the Burrills (Viance married Dr Charles Wesley Burrills) I have the class roster from 1854. They lived in Steele city Nebraska.
Viola married Henry Maurer and lived in South Dakota if I'm recalling correctly. She was a school teacher when they met.
Seth married, as you know, mary Elizabeth Hisey, who lived just a few places from the Emerys.
George and Polley moved to Kansas in 1870 and Polley died that same year. George died in 1884 ..he was born in Walpole NH in 1871...along with four brothers and three sisters. i have all the info on the siblings...parents, etc....
