Julie, James was born in TN, the Jones line came from Blount Co TN so maybe James's family was also in Blount Co at the same time. The Hammonds may of came from Ripley Ind, & somewere in Maryland be for that. Jones Or Hammond one have some Mohawk blood. Mahlons son looked indian. And my husbands mother also, she always said they were 1/2 mohawk. Not sure it is Jones or Hammonds line, any ideal?
