James & Hester Hammonds daughter Samantah, married Mahlon Howard Jones 1872, in Iowa.I was told the Jones family were quackers from a community called Friends. I have as the possiable parents of James to be Johnathen Hammond & Martha Pepper. I do know that the Hammonds and Jones families both lived in Keokuk Co Iowa then it seemed most of them moved to Smith Co, Kansas together. My Jones line came to Oklahoma later, but was told some of them went back. I have had no other contact with anyone on the Hammonds line, so this is exciting to me. would love to exchange info
