1904-1910 Topeka re: John E/Cora Squires & Eliza Brotherton

Found my gggrandmother ELIZA BROTHERTON living at 1021 Brooks Ave in Topeka in 1904 - We believe her to be living with the JOHN E SQUIRE family, as they are found on a city directory at this address for 1905

AND we find Cora Squire's signature on a document of Eliza's (witness signature) in 1904 - 1021 Brooks Ave is listed as Eliza's address then.

We believe CORA SQUIRE to be CORA BROTHERTON, daughter of Eliza, who was widowed by the 1900 census & left with a 1 year old daughter GLADYS H BASSETT - we believe CORA remarried this JOHN E SQUIRE possibly and then Cora's mom moved in with them in Topeka at the above address.

We lost track of Cora, John and Gladys after 1907.....the 1907 directory listed John E. Squire as Asst. Mgr of the Majestic Theater in Topeka - there are no city directories in 1908,1909, but the 1910 shows them no longer at the 1021 Brooks ave address

We did find that ELIZA BROTHERTON moved up to WISCONSIN to live with IDA BRAITHWAITE, Ida being a sister of CORA -
but we are fuzzy on what happened to the SQUIRES and would of course love to hear from anyone who is related or has information on any of the above mentioned people & info on their family lines.

Another BROTHERTON family member, James, a brother of Ida and Cora also was in KS but in Cherokee County and is buried there.

hope to hear from you soon & enjoy the search!!!! Sue
