[Let me know if you want these images.]

1840:
William Batterton in Monroe County, Indiana, shows 2 female children under age 5; this might include daughter Mary.

I don't find Battertons in Indiana in 1850, but there is Wm. Batterton in ILlinois in that census year; I'm having some trouble with the image, but if it looks like a match I'll post that.

1860:
William Batterton in Bloomington. He is a Sadler, age 63, born Kentucky. Also in the household, all born in Indiana, are:
Nancy G. Batterton, age 30
E.A. Batterton, age 25, Sadler
Mary A. Batterton, age [24? 26?--one number written over the other], Teach Com. School
David Batterton, age 15
Lizzie Batterton, age 13
Harriet Batterton, age 11
[Charles or Clarke] Batterton, age 9

1870:
32-year-old Mary Batterton living in Bloomington in 1870 census, in the household of Presley & Sallie Mathers. She is simply listed as "At Home."
