Kim Baker Topeka, KS TATE R. KUGLER Tate R. Kugler, 82, 605 N. New York, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 1986 at his home following a long illness. Born April 16, 1903 at Lincolnville, he married Anna L. Elledge Mortimer on June 30, 1936 in Liberal. He attended schools in the Marion and Florence communities and moved to Liberal in 1933. He was a dragline and shovel operator for 30 years. In 1947, he and Philip Clas formed the Clasen-Kugler Construction Co. and operated that until retiring in 1980. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, IOOF Lodge No. 555, Rebekahs, K&O Encampment No. 160, Patriarch Militant Canton No. 19, all at Liberal. Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Leora) Rowden, Liberal; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Reed, Lufkin, Texas; two grandsons, Patrick T. Rowden, Denver, Colorado. and Michael L. Rowden, Ft. Smith, Ark.; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the Miller Chapel by Charles Brisendine. Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; and 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials so the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 188, or to the Kansas Odd Fellow Eye Bank, 606 Warren, Liberal. Notify Administrator about this message?
