I am attempting to determine whether the father of Derrill Hubert KNIGHT is John Bunion KNIGHT born circa 1879 in TX, son of James Monroe KNIGHT/NITE and Martha (HARRIS) KNIGHT/NITE. And, additionally, whether his mother's maiden name is Elizabeth M. "Bessie" WALLER born circa 1895 in KS, daughter of Rufus J. WALLER and Elizabeth H.(MINOR)WALLER.

Derrill Hubert KNIGHT was born 4 January 1918 in KS, died 6 July 1995 in KS. Social Security records indicate his last known residence as Wichita, Sedgwick County, KS. Derrill was a retired tool and die machinist for Cessna Aircraft Company.

Derrill is enumerated on the 1920 Sedgwick County, KS, Federal Census; Wichita Ward 6; E.D. 160, Pg. 11A; 1211 Fannie Avenue; dated 9 January 1920, with his parents:

KNIGHT, John B. Head M W 40 M TX AL AL Painter House
", Bessie M. Wife F W 25 M KS IN KY None
", Derrill H. Son M W 2 0/12 S OK TX KS None

1930 Pratt County, KS, Federal Census; Cullison City; E. D. 27, Pg. 1B; dated 17 April 1930 shows Derril KNIGHT and his sister Beatrice KNIGHT enumerated in the household of their uncle Edd WALLER together with their grandmother Elizabeth WALLER and cousins Virgil WALLER and Vera WALLER. I have not found either John B. KNIGHT or Bessie M. KNIGHT on the 1930 census. Can anyone confirm whether John and Bessie were deceased by 17 April 1930?

WALLER, Edd Head M W 48 Wd KS IN KY Painter

", Virgil Son M W 13 S KS KS KS None
", Vera Dau F W 11 S KS KS KS None
Knight, Derrill Neph M W 11 S KS US KS None

Information you share with me on any of the individuals named above will be appreciated more than words can express. I live in TX and access to KS public records is very limited.

Sincerely,
Liz Farthing
