I hate to be sarcastic, but Snyder is the epitamy of a brick wall. It is a name that my aunt gave me as a possible surname of her mother's second husband or perhaps uncle. The family origins are New York but migrated west. I have no idea how or where the surname Snyder comes into play and my aunt is rather advanced in years and admitedly states her memory is not all it should be. The name would be related to the Rush County Kansas area and other surnames of Pierce and Hulse. Sorry I can't be of more help.
