I posted messages in this forum in 2001 about my ggrandfather Simon Whitton Arnold because I was searching for the names of his parents. I now have that info , actually I have found out alot about Simon's father Elijah W. Arnold. He married a Charity Gipson in Floyd County, Indiana in 1853.I don't have much info on Charity, but looking at the forum the name Charity was really common in the Gipson Forum.According to my ggrandpa Simon's death cert both Elijah and Charity were born in Harrison County Indiana. In August of 1862 Elijah was mustered into the 66th Regiment of the Indiana State Infantry , fighting for the Union.He survived the War, miraculouly, 26000 men from Indiana died of wounds and desease during the war.I have sent off for his military and pension records which I hope will shed some light as to where he and Charity are buried.I wish to go there and visit them someday.I also want to send a HELLO and a thank you again to Susan Speiker who answered my previous posting .I've made some big strides in the last few months Susan, I thought you might like to know that. If any Arnold's out there share my ancestors please post a follow up. Thank You Tim Arnold
