Don't know if this will help, but here it is. I have a 2 volume book set on the history of Rooks County, Kansas. In it, under the family name of Clair, it says the following: on pg. 105 -- Emma Florence Conger, daugther of James and Elizibeth Conger was born in Marysville, Missouri. At an early age she came to Kansas with her family, by covered wagon. They homesteaded land six miles east of Codell, on Paradise Creek. The school built there was also named for the family, who gave the land, "The Conger School.". On March 25, 1888, Walter Clair and Florence Conger were married in Stockton, Kansas." There is also a photo of Walter and Florence Clair and their children. on pg. 111-113 Quite a lengthy entry on Isaac Conger (b. 1847), son of James and Elizabeth Conger, and his family. He was born in Maryetta, Marion County, Ohio. Says Isaac had a twin brother John. Isaac married Emma Jane Thompson in 1871. Isaac and Emma moved to Jewell County, Ks in 1871, then came to Rooks county in 1878. There is also a lovely photo of the Isaac and Emma Conger famly, including 9 children. If any of this sounds of interest, email me and I can scan a copy of this and email it back to you. In your email, be sure to list the book and surnames again; I get lots of requests for different info. -- Susan hajspieker@netzero.net Notify Administrator about this message?
