Larry--I looked up your gg uncle in the 1912 Hutchinson City Directory.

The name of the store was simply "CH McBurney", 208-214 N. Main, telephone 34. Residence was 1500 N. Main.

Yes, everyone here in town knows the big, beautiful house at 15th & Main! Several years ago it was turned into a bed & breakfast. I don't think it's had much success, tho, as its been sold several times, and is on the market again!

Larry, I'm a volunteer for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness and would be glad to do some more digging on this family for you if you want. I had no idea that Pegues had a predecessor, so I learn something every time I do research for someone!
