Haids in Pottawatomie county-1800-1900's

I am trying to locate any information regarding my great great grandfather, Jacob Henry Haid, who came to the US in 1844 from Wurttemburg. He was born 1/25/1827. Married Barbara Wiest (from Bavaria) in Platte county, Mo on 7/20/1854. He settled in Pottawatomie county, KS from 1854 until his death 1/23/1904. He & Barbara had at least 8 children: Mary, Louis, Elizabeth (Lizzie), Edward, August, Nellie (my great grandmother), Emma & Frederick.

There was a John G & Stephen Haid who also settled in Pottawatomie county around the same time, but we don't know their relation to Jacob. I have no information as to what part of Wurttemburg he came from, nor anything about his family. I would also like to make a connection to his Germany roots, if any one can help me.
