Mary Young, born ca 1830 Ohio, was in Scranton, Ks by 1883. Very likely her daughter and son-in-law, William H Patterson and his wife Fannie, were there also? William H Patterson was born 1852 in Ohio and his wife, Sarah Frances Young (called "Fannie") who was born in 1854 in Ohio, were in Kansas by the 1880's as their children claim Kansas as their place of birth. By 1900 William and Fannie Patterson were in Crawford Co., Ks. Their children include Ira P., Bessie, Andrew, Burt M., Linnie W., Ernest, and Earl William Patterson.
