There is a great website for Kansas. It's found at the Kansas USGenWeb page. There are volunteers listed who will check a variety of books that they have. There are a couple on Osage Mission. Here's the web address:

Also, did your ancestor serve in the Civil War? If so, did he receive a pension? If he did, request his pension file from the National Archives. It will hopefully have some good genealogical information for you.
