I found a little information at including these marriage records:

Charles Nichols age 40, married Anna or Annie Wilson, age 34, on 12 March 1899 in Erie KS. There is an identical record showing Neosho Co. KS.

David Wilson, age 24, m. Anna Phelpp, age 22, on 19 Jan 1886, Erie, KS.

When using you can either fill in information on the home page search field, or scroll down to the United States link, then scroll down to Kansas. The above is from Kansas Marriages 1840-1935.

I did not find anything online related to the death of David Willson/Wilson. You might try the newspapers for that time period which have been put on microfilm. Here is the address for Kansas newspapers on microfilm:

There are newspapers for Erie, Neosho Co. KS for that time period. Iím from Oklahoma and have not used any microfilm from KS, but maybe there is an interlibrary loan. (There is not for Oklahoma.) You might also try the Erie City Library to see if they have access to these old newspapers, and what the fee would be for a search.

My experience with research in old newspapers of Oklahoma is that there was not an Obituary page. Deaths might not be announced, unless it was a child or there was an unusual story in the death. Kansas might be different. It has a much longer history than OK.

Good luck in your search.
