Looking for information on the STARK (STARKY, STARKI) family that is believd to have settled in Osage Mission, St. Paul, in the mid to late 1880s. Nicholas Stark (b. abt. 1848), Theresa Meiring Stark (b. May 17, 1870), and 5 daughters Elizabeth (b. 1871), Caroline (b. 1873), Catherine (b. 1874), Rose (b. 1878) and Mary (b. 1879). They were last documented living in Jennings County, Indiana according to the 1880 federal census. After that they disappeared. I have documentation to show that Theresa Stark's sister Elizabeth Meiring Schmiemann settled with her husband, William Schmiemann, and family, in Pittsburg, Kansas after a short stay at Osage Mission. Could Theresa and Nicholas Stark have remained in Osage? They didn't go to Pittsburg to my knowledge. Perhaps elsewhere? Can anyone help? Thanks you!
