From The Chanute (KS) Daily Tribune, Monday June 11, 1900, p. 3:
Mrs. Wm Lyster, mother of John Lyster, an aged lady, died this morning after a long illness. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at the Baptist church.
Mrs. Wm. Lister [sic], who died this morning about 7 ’clock, was apparently getting better and her sudden death at the hour spoken of was a great surprise to all her friends. She was highly esteemed by those who knew her as a “good woman.”
From The Chanute (KS) Daily Tribune, Tuesday June 12, 1900, p. 3:
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lyster of Elk Falls, the aged father and mother of John Lyster, came to attend the funeral of the wife of John.
Besides the parents of Mr. Lyster who came to attend the funeral, brothers J. Lyster and wife came from Weir City, Alonzo, wife and baby from Longton, and J. H. Bates a rother-in-law with the sisters here were in attendance.
