Historic newspaper articles of 1876 for Thayer

Someone put an tiny piece of info from the Thayer Head Light, Nov 10, 1876 online that read: "Yesterday morning, John BEN, aged 59 years, hanged himself at his farm three miles northeast of Thayer...." That is my German John Beu. Beu's are often found as Ben's in the census. I am trying to find out more info on him as this has been a well kept family secret. John is buried in Thayer but his newer than those of other site gravestone said he died in 1877. His children were: Carl John "Charley", John Carl, Frederecka (Scheel), Minnie (Brown), Christian, Sophia (Krohne) and William John (my g grandfather). The family all moved down to Elk Co soon after their dad's suicide. Wonder if there were any more info in that newspaper. Any help would be much appreciated.
