On 08 June 1853 Maria Louise (Holtz) Weyer left her home
in Gramzow, in District of Angermunde, near city of Prenzlau, State of Brandenburg, Germany; never to return.

She had been born in Schmolln, a nearby village on 13 Oct
1803. She had married Friedrich Weyer who was born 20 Aug 1785 in Wollin, another close village. He died 06 Feb 1846. Nine children were born in this family. Seven
migrated to Amerika and spent some time in Wisconsin, later after finishing military duty the eighth came over. The only remaining child in Germany was a married daughter
Ernestine Louise who was married to Christian Friedrich
Kemp(e)in 1850.

The Weyer mother Maria and her boys determined to investigate the Kansas Territory before statehood and began squatting in 1857 and 1858. Maria died 02 Aug 1871 and is buried in Seneca Cemetery. The children were:

Ernestine (above)b.20 Oct 1824 - 17 Mar 1896 C.F.Kemp(e)
Christian F. b.30 Mar 1826 - 10 Jun 1911 Anna G. Vits
Wilhelmine b.27 Apr 1828 - 1866 J.F.Rosenthal
William b.25 Oct 1830 - 30 Aug 1905 Minnie Ellner
Friedrich b.16 Dec 1832 - 29 Nov 1893 Sophia Schultz
August b.08 Aug 1834 - 08 Oct 1921 Sophia Schmidt
George b.03 Apr 1836 - 04 Aug 1912 Elizabeth Luehring
Gottlieb b.14 May 1839 - 11 Jan 1904 Katherine Luehring
J.W.Augusta b.15 Jul 1842 - 25 Sep 1880 George F.Gerlinger

In Wollin Germany the parents of Friedrich Weyer were
George Weyer born 21 Dec 1747 and Maria (Zems) born 24 Oct 1758. They had 8 children; one Maria Christina became a notable opera singer.

George Weyer's parents were Erdmann Weyer born in 1714 and Christina Lau(en) born 27 Apr 1718 in Casekow near Wollin.
They had 5 children.

Currently I am researching this family with help from German cousins. Ancestrial names being researched are
Weyer,Holtz,Zems,Lau(en)and related familys Kemp(e),Spann,

If any Weyer decendants wish to contribute the latest
generations of names birthdates & etc. it would be welcomed.
