Hi and Happy New Year!

In about 1880 according to a census in Wisconsin a family by the name of S. M. Newton to Samuel Mark Newton then living in Buffalo Co., Wisconsin (Naples) had taken in two children. Which family had done for years. They claim the children were adopted, but doubt that they were. A Robert Newton born Mi. and Augusta L. born Wisconsin.

The family moved to Kansas Manhattan, Riley, Kansas I would love to know if there is any records on Robert or Augusta in KS.? School, church, community, marriage. I am wondering what their last names were and where they went after living with the Samuel Mark Newton family.

Augusta was born about 1877 and Robert some where near that year. Now not sure they were even brother and sister. The Newton's gave their surname to several children over the years. Some stayed a long time, some stayed with them only a short spell. Our relative was Edgar Allen Newton who first showed up age 3 with the family in Wisconsin. We have the census from WI. and KS. However, would love to know if any data on the family or the children can be located.

Now as far as Edgar who lived with the Newton's we have his life pretty well documented. We just lack his childhood in Wisconsin.

Any help would be so appreciated. I have hit a brick wall. Thank you
Candy
