Wow, what a find!! This wife of his Eliza E., must have been a 2nd wife, because his first wife (also named Eliza -- how weird is that??) died and was buried in Kansas.
This is them, I'm stunned. I see the daughter Dorcas L. named after George's mother, and George after himself. In the earlier census you sent from 1905, it showed a son Josiah who was b.~1891. I wonder what happened to him?
The Nelson's are my mom's biological family, and she was given up for adoption when she was 3 months old, so she wasn't raised in the area and didn't know these folks. Later in her life, she did meet her mother and an aunt, but they never talked to her about the family and she didn't feel comfortable asking to meet them or see photos. She always struggled with being given up for adoption, and didn't feel like the Nelson's were her family and so she didn't want to ask lots of prying questions about them. I wish she had, because I probably wouldn't be begging for help now!
I really appreciate your help. This is a mission I wanted to work on before my mom died, but never got the chance. Now I want to carry on what I can for my own peace of mind.
