I'm looking for the parents of both John and Rachel McAuley, as well as John's imigration entry (probably into Canada first) so I can find the ship passenger list and hopefully, John's parents names as well. A religion listed might help give me a church to search for records as well.
John was born in 1827-Scotland and showed up in York Mills, NY where he married Rachel(Blazies,sp.?) on 8/27/1846 in Rome, NY, at Stanwix Hall-Oneida County.
John and Rachel had several children born both in New York and Kansas:
Mary, Joan, Eugene M. (my direct line),Marion, Alfred, Mercy, Charlie and in the 1880 Kansas Census it shows two servants in Kansas, Linn, Sheridan by the names of Daniel McHenry and William Heilman.
I suspect that perhaps eventually Daniel adopted the McAuley surname but am not positive just yet.
Any pointers or information on John and Rachel would be most appreciated.
