Tolson Benjamin,Tolson Annie ?divorce legal?

Hi
I am struggling trying to find if the Divorce petition by Annie TOLSON,for adultery, filed 3rd March 1869 was ever finalised,I contacted the National Archives & bought a copy but it is hard to understand and has "petition dismissed" 25 Nov 1873 with the words "struck out" hand written over it.As Annie re-married Dec 1870 to James AUTY,saying she was a widow(she wasn't,Benjamin was working in Pennsylvania around 1870/71,he died 26 JAN 1885 & is buried in Silentlands Cemetery Kansas)I am wondering if this marriage was legal!
I know there is a 4th edition of Annie's autobiography ,published in 1888 titled "Annie, being a faithful account of the Life,Experience & Labours of Annie Auty(formerly Mrs Tolson"but I cannot find a copy & I am sure there would be information in there that might clarify things
your help would be much appreciated
