Terry, I have a few Brown Co. Ks. resources. There is a John McGuire listed in History of Brown County Kansas compiled by Maj. E.N. Morrill 1876, giving a settlement date of 1856 for him.
Brown county cemeteries Vol 1. compiled by H.Lyle Hinz John M. and Catherine are buried in Hamlin Cemetery, Hamlin Township, John b. 5 Oct.1818 d. 26 Oct.1897 Catherine b. 1 Jan. 1832 d. 1 July 1904 Infant children children of C. and Estella- no dates
There also was a Hiram McGuire b. Ky in the 1860 census Could he be a brother of John M. ??? I could look for an obit for John M. but it will be a while before I can get up there. I think that is the only record proving relation to John and Lucy, you will find for this time frame. Have you looked in Indiana for the will of John McGuire?
vicki
