I think Alfred was born in Wyoming,Hamilton county,Ohio and may be the son of Stephen Stites and Rachael Matilda Campbell they were married 19-Sept-1848 in Orange county,Indiana she was previously married to Robert E. Kelly. This is Alfred's second marriage - his first was to Elizabeth Elton Shaw on 10-May-1827 Rush county,Indiana, she was born 2-Sept-1811 and death was 3-July-1848 Rushville,Noble county,Indiana. She is the daughter of Richard Shaw and Hulda Willey.
