Thank you so much, Howard. I did have the family history, but how he wound up in Nortonville is the mystery to me. I inherited about 400 letters and documents from the extended family ranging from 1780's to 1894. Elisha seemed pretty level headed until later in life, then things must have fallen apart for him. Thanks for your help, though. I got them to the 1880's at least.
