Hi Lorena - thanks for the quick response. Not sure if the name is Thompon or Thompson, but was really thrilled to get the information. I had just found this a.m. the info on KS census. I will send for the 1905 one and also newspapers. May find something there.
Some info I have in case you don't -Ross and Zepha Vassar had 4 children- Oma (b.1912), Vassar(b.1915), Deana and Dean(twins b. 18 Jul. 1917). Dean died 22 Feb 1989-Dickinson Ct. Abilene Ks. Deana's husband was Huffman (his parents farmed next to Bessie and George Vassar's farm near Abilene.I haven't gotten as involved as would like in the Vassar side as busy working on the Kessingers and several other families.
How are you related? James W. Kessinger - Elizabeth's (Bessie) first husband was my ggrandfather (which makes Bessie my ggrandmother).
