Correction: James Wood buried two wives in Danby Cem, Ionia County, MI and brought his children with him to Bennington, Ottawa County, KS. James is buried in the Gypsum Hill Cem (GAR section) in Salina, Saline County, KS. He bought a homestead, Section 33, as he had previously in MI by the same section number 33. Surnames: WOOD/CAME/BISHOP/KILGARIFF/LIPE/LOCKARD/HUMBARGER TO NAME SOME. James had sons from both marriages. One being Wm Wallace Wood who marrying a Ellen Came raised a sizeable family. One daughter, Alice Jerusha Wood married Gilbert Ransom Ostrander, brother of Wm Oscar Wood of Bennington. Another daughter, Bertha Louella Wood married Luther LeVerne d'Harville in Aspen, CO. Bertha's twin brother, Geo. Arthur Wood married Nellie E. Lockard. Several taught in KS schools. Genealogy has been productive and I have much more to tell...and is still a work in progress...of course!
