Hi Mary, I found the information about the Ft. Scott Train
Wreck. It occured on Oct 2, 1918 just south of Ft. Scott
about 12 miles, on Frisco Rd. Apparently the engineer's
view must have been blocked from seeing a bridge on fire.
Driving too fast to stop, somehow only he, my gr. uncle
and an unidentified person were killed. They were probably burned to death, although I wouldn't rule out that a bang on the head could have killed them first. There is no mention of it being anyone's fault in this writing.

Monday I'm going to go back and see if I can find out anymore info on the cause of the fire.

On the 12th there was an article that was supposed to be
a funny circumstance as a result of the fire. Someone
wanted to be treated by the doctor who treated all those
injured for free. This man wanted the same treatment be-
cause wreck caused him to get drunk! I wonder if he wasn't
the cause of the fire himself. No name was mentioned - he
was a traveling salesman. I'll let you know if there is more information.
