I am searching for information on my great grandparents, James and Ida West who lived in Hutchinson Kansas in the early 1920s.
They supposedly adopted a little Native American girl, who was born in 1923. Her name was Margaret or Mae West.
James died in 1927, and it is unknown when Ida died. They were both born in Ohio.
They had three children of their own: Maude Mae West (my grandmother) Meta West, and Wesley West.
I checked the 1930 census for Ida and Margaret to no avail.
Can anyone tell me where I would find records if Margaret was indeed adopted?
Any information on the West family would be greatly appreciated.
