Hello, I am also looking for a Claud Long in Kansas, and I may have found information regarding your Claud in the process.
I have found a Claude Long born in Texas in 1881, son of Dow Lorenzo Long, and also a whole bunch of Longs in Linton, Indiana near where my Great Grandpa grew up. If you have any indication of a connnection to Indiana or Texas for your Claud Long, let me know and I will send you what I have.
I do know my Great Grandfather Claud Clarence Long was born in Kansas on July 5th, 1881, to Sarilda Padgett Long and John W. Long. This I have from his marriage record to Mary Ellen Gastineau in 1905 in Greene County, Indiana. I have census, obitand county histories with his family in them, all in Indiana, and the only reason I am sure of his being born in kansas is, every census shows him born there, though he is living in Indiana in all of the census records I have.
