He married Maria Anna Shoot 28 May 1868 in Charleston, Coles Co., IL. She was born 22 Apr 1845 in Coles Co., IL to John Sanford Shoots and MaryLouisa Harlan and died 5 Aug 1925. She's buried at Compton, Los Angeles Co., CA.

She was born in 1798 in Fayette Co., KY to Nelson & Ann Wichen Hundley; died 15 Sep 1838 in Ashmore Twp., Coles Co., IL and buried in the Shoot Cemetery, Ashmore Twp., Coles Co., IL.
They had 9 children--Rebecca, Tilford T., *John Sanford, Ann Elizabeth, Nelson Hundley, Dudley Hudson, Virginia Mildred, William Franklin and Mary Catherine Shoots.
William F. Shoots married (2) Sarah Jane Baldwin 13 Jun 1839 in Coles Co., IL. They had 5 children--Harriet, Ellen Susan, Artie Mitch, Melissa and Alexander "Lex" Shoots.
William "John" Shoots was born in 1755 in Hampshire Co., VA and died in 1816 in Fayette Co., KY. He married Mary/Polly/Molly Wilson about 1780. She was born in 1762 to Abner & Sarah "Sally" Montague Wilson and died in 1827 in Fayette Co., KY.
They had 8 children--James, John, Kitty D., Susan, *William F., Malinda, Frederick and Mildred Shoots.
