I have heard an interesting story about Hutchisson brothers coming from England as soldiers, deserting the British Army, and becoming American soldiers. After the war (which war?) they settled in KENTUCKY. Can anyone verify this story? My great grandmother, Elmina Smith, was born in MISSOURI, married G.W. Hutchisson in 1847 (records show misspelled Huckison), they had 9 children, 4 born in MISSOURI (Eviline?, Charles, Margaret, and Nancy), Andrew born in KANSAS, then John J., Mary Jane, G.W., and Robert Lee born in ARKANSAS. The 1880 Arkansas census shows Elmina's parents born in NORTH CAROLINA. G.W. lists his father born in VIRGINIA, and mother born in TENNESSEE. Does anyone out there know more about these families?
